The Cost Reduction Strategies For Prescription Drugs
Although the paper has presented the problems and core solutions in resolving the cost reduction strategies for prescription drugs, itââ¬â¢s important to consider the short-term solution rather than the long-term. In long-term problem solving strategic plan like the change in the overall U.S health system, the process of transforming the highly dominated private health financing system to government funding and controlling system takes years, even decade. To reduce the price of prescription drugs in the United States, this paper (part III) has presented recommendations on the two presented solutions (price controlling strategies at health organization and individual levels) in the second part of the paper. Both health care organization and individuals, who purchase and consume prescription drugs can play a great role in reducing the nationââ¬â¢s total prescription drug expenditures as well as individual expenses. Since 2004, one out of every ten dollars on health care has been spent on prescription drugs since 2004 follow-on a sharp increase in 12.2 percent in 2014 (Kennedy Morgan, 2009).
